Cedar Mount Academy is delighted to be hosting Physics Partners CPD sessions, bringing science teachers from across the local area together for expert-led training, practical demonstrations and opportunities to share best practice.

Students from Cedar Mount Academy celebrated World Afro Day this week. They delivered an assembly at Stanley Grove before delivering lessons to two Y5 classes at Rushbrook. We then welcomed Yewande Gafaar to deliver a session to students on confidence, identity and embracing Afro-textured hair, alongside practical advice on healthy hair care and protective styling. π β #WorldAfroDay

π Sports Players of the Year 2025/26 π
A huge congratulations to Ali Butt Rani and Muhammed who have been named CMA Sports Players of the Year 2025/26.
Throughout the year, both students have consistently demonstrated outstanding attitude, resilience, commitment, and dedication to school sport. Their efforts have earned them the Managerβs Player of the Year Award, presented by Mr M Khan (PE Teacher).
The awards were presented by our Headteacher, and both students were delighted to receive this well-deserved recognition.
We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the positive example they set for others. We wish Ali and Ali every success as they continue their journey at CMA and look forward to seeing them build on this fantastic achievement in the years ahead.

On Friday, we held the Boys Football World Cup Tournament β½, which was fiercely contested from start to finish! After some close intense matches, Argentina won the finals on penalties and were crowned champions π₯, with Spain finishing as worthy runners-up π₯. Not quite like the World Cup final last night! π
A huge congratulations to Omar, who was awarded the MVP (Most Valuable Player) trophy by students who came to watch and took part for his outstanding performances throughout the tournament! ππ-
πβ¨ Today marked Day 5 of our Culture Week! β¨π
What a fantastic way to round off an incredible week of celebrating diversity, culture and community! β€οΈ
π Students proudly came to school dressed in their traditional clothing, showcasing the rich cultures and heritage that make our school such a vibrant and welcoming place. πβ¨
π Year 8 students enjoyed an inspiring session with author Kimberly Whittam, who spoke about overcoming negative labels and stereotypes, encouraging students to believe in themselves and challenge perceptions. π¬π
π€ We were also delighted to welcome Kids of Colour and Ade of the Manchester 10, who delivered the final session of their Boys & Love programme, giving students a valuable opportunity to reflect, share and grow. π
π Former CMA student Bryan returned to school to deliver a thought-provoking lesson on what culture means to him, inspiring students to reflect on their own identities and experiences.
π₯ At break time, students enjoyed complimentary croissants, followed by the ever-popular fish and chips at lunchtime! π½οΈπ
