🌍✨ Today marked Day 5 of our Culture Week! ✨🌍
What a fantastic way to round off an incredible week of celebrating diversity, culture and community! ❤️
👘 Students proudly came to school dressed in their traditional clothing, showcasing the rich cultures and heritage that make our school such a vibrant and welcoming place. 🌎✨
📚 Year 8 students enjoyed an inspiring session with author Kimberly Whittam, who spoke about overcoming negative labels and stereotypes, encouraging students to believe in themselves and challenge perceptions. 💬💙
🤝 We were also delighted to welcome Kids of Colour and Ade of the Manchester 10, who delivered the final session of their Boys & Love programme, giving students a valuable opportunity to reflect, share and grow. 💛
🎓 Former CMA student Bryan returned to school to deliver a thought-provoking lesson on what culture means to him, inspiring students to reflect on their own identities and experiences.
🥐 At break time, students enjoyed complimentary croissants, followed by the ever-popular fish and chips at lunchtime! 🍽️😋

🌍✨ Yesterday saw Day 4 of our Culture Week! ✨🌍
Another fantastic day of celebration, inspiration and learning! 💚
💃 Year 9 and Year 10 students got moving with an energetic Afro-fusion dance workshop, led by the talented instructor from Elevate Young Minds.
🎓 Our Year 10 High Achievers cohort were also privileged to hear from an inspiring panel of guest speakers: Dr Perpetual Eze-Idehen, Dr Bolaji Thanni, Dr Grace Aquah from the University of Manchester, alongside Mary Akanmu-Bamikefa. They encouraged students to dream big, aim high and believe in their ability to achieve their goals. 🌟
📚 Throughout the week in RS lessons, students have been exploring the incredible contributions of scholars from the Islamic Golden Age, learning about their lasting impact on medicine 🩺, science 🔬, mathematics ➗, philosophy 💭 and geography 🌍.
🍗 At break time, students enjoyed another delicious complimentary treat, with jerk chicken and rice on the menu! 😋

Day 3 of Culture Week brought another fantastic day of learning and celebration! 🌍✨
During Personal Development lessons, KS4 students explored One Thousand and One Nights 📖, the famous collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age, while KS3 students learnt how beliefs about Babylon, liberation and identity have shaped Rastafari worldviews 🇯🇲.
Year 7 were also inspired by a special session from Naomi Lowe-Lennon, Lecturer in the School of Health and Society at the University of Salford. Students discovered the impact of the Windrush generation on the NHS, explored traditional Caribbean medicines, and learnt about the remarkable legacy of Mary Seacole 🩺.
The English department welcomed internationally acclaimed, award-winning author A. M. Dassu for a series of live Zoom sessions with Year 7. Students had the opportunity to discuss a novel they have studied this year, with the author herself, gaining valuable insight into the text and its themes.
Meanwhile, in Maths, students travelled the world through numbers, exploring multiplication methods from different cultures, including the Japanese line and intersection method, the Indian lattice method, and the ancient Egyptian doubling method ➗🌏.

Rewards Day at CMA!💚
Our students have had a fun-filled day for their rewards day, celebrating the brilliant work over this academic year.
We’ve had inflatable slides and sports arenas, plus an ice cream for all! Needed on a day like today! 🍦
🌍✨ Tuesday saw Day 2 of our Culture Week! ✨🌍
It was another fantastic day packed with creativity, culture and inspiration! 💚
Year 7 and Year 8 students kicked off the day with an energetic Hip Hop dance workshop led by Favour from Elevate Young Minds Dance Studio. 🕺
Meanwhile, Year 8 and Year 9 students took part in two engaging workshops delivered by the Manchester Chinese Centre, where they created beautiful dragon lanterns 🐉🏮 and practised the art of Chinese calligraphy 🖌️.
We were also delighted to welcome back several of our amazing alumni! It was wonderful to see Amira, Aneesa and Aeman (Class of 2021) return to deliver lessons before posing proudly beside the Humanities Mosaic they helped create as Year 7 students. ❤️
We were also joined by Maia (Class of 2019), along with Victory, Eloyra, Teasia, Kassy and Daisy (Class of 2025), who all shared their experiences and inspired our Year 10 students through engaging lessons. 🎓
At break time, everyone enjoyed a delicious treat of complimentary chin chin, freshly prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff. 😋🥮

🌍✨ Yesterday marked Day 1 of Culture Week! ✨🌍
Our students of Asian and Arab heritage enjoyed an inspiring visit to the Midwifery Department at the University of Salford 🏥👶.
They explored the different pathways available after leaving school, discovered the vital role and responsibilities of a midwife, and learned about the exciting opportunities a career in healthcare can offer. 💙
The afternoon was packed with hands-on activities in the experience suites, where students listened to a “baby’s” heartbeat ❤️, practised changing nappies 🍼, and even learned life-saving CPR skills 🚑.
Meanwhile, back at school, students enjoyed a delicious break-time treat of samosas and bhajis! 😋🥟
