This week, our Year 10 Sports Studies students successfully completed their canoeing assessment at Debdale Outdoor Centre.
They were lucky to enjoy glorious weather, creating the perfect setting for a fantastic day out on the water! πβοΈ
Throughout the session, students developed their canoeing techniques, learned new skills, and demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and determination. πͺπ

π± Weβre proud that CMA was selected to take part in the RHS Seedling School Pilot, which concluded on 6 July.
Over the course of the project, 35 Year 8 students explored the connection between plants, wellbeing, and the environment. Through hands-on activities, they discovered how gardens function as living systems and learned the importance of shared responsibility by caring for a planter, generously donated to CMA.
The initiative included two inspiring RHS sessions at CMA, as well as a memorable visit to RHS Bridgewater. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop new skills, build confidence, and deepen their appreciation of the natural world. πΏπ

π Congratulations to a group of our Year 10 students who have successfully completed the Manchester Young Academics Programme at the University of Manchester!
Over the past few months, they have taken part in workshops, visited the university, completed a university-style assignment, and celebrated their achievements at a graduation ceremony with their families. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and look forward to seeing them continue the programme in Year 11.

Throughout June, we proudly celebrated Pride Month alongside School Diversity Week (22β26 June) at CMA. π³οΈβπ Staff decorated their classroom doors with posters celebrating their LGBTQ+ heroes, students took part in subject-specific activities exploring diversity and inclusion, and delicious cupcakes were on sale at break time. We rounded off the celebrations with βRainbow Fridayβ, where students and staff wore a splash of rainbow colour to show their support. ππ #BrightFuturesEquality
