In March, Year 9 and 10 students from Cedar Mount competed in DebateMate events across Manchester. They won 4 of 6 debates in Urban Debate League Round 2, showing strong progress. At the Debate Mate Cup at the University of Manchester, they performed even better, winning most debates and finishing 3rd and 4th, just missing the final. Students showed great passion, teamwork and integrity—well done to all who took part! 💚 #TheCMAWay
Year 7 tried karate in PE this week, learning new skills and techniques in a fun, engaging session. A great opportunity to experience something new and step outside their comfort zone! "It was fun and something I’ve never tried before.”🥋 💚 #TheCMAWay
Our Year 10 students took part in the Black Heritage Project—an initiative celebrating the link between humanities and career success. In partnership with the University of Manchester, they explored career paths, worked with student ambassadors, and delivered impressive presentations, earning fantastic feedback. 💚 #TheCMAWay

⚽ Year 8 Football Team – League Finalists!
An exciting season for our Year 8 team, competing in the Manchester Cup, Plate Cup and league. After a strong campaign winning 7 of 8 league matches, the title race came down to a thrilling final against Wright Robinson. Cedar Mount led 2–1 at halftime, but narrowly lost 3–2, missing the title by just one point.
Huge credit to the team for their commitment, teamwork and resilience, and a special thanks to Mr Khan for his dedication and support throughout the season. A fantastic year for Year 8 football! ⚽👏 #TheCMAWay

Students from Year 11 Sports Studies made a splash at Debdale Outdoor Centre as they completed their practical assessment on the water. Wearing wetsuits and big smiles, they learned how to canoe, turn their boats with control, and work confidently in pairs.
The group threw themselves into every challenge, showing real resilience, teamwork, and hard work – shining examples of our Cedar Mount values. It was a fantastic morning of new skills, new experiences, and plenty of enthusiasm. #TheCMAWay
