Year 7 go mad in Malham.

Category: Uncategorised

To help Year 7 understand how waterfalls and gorges are formed Mr Crowther grabbed the opportunity for some ‘outdoor learning’ and took thirty eight students on a field trip to Malham. During their visit they measured the width and depth of Malham Beck, a river running through the village and collected data to use in lessons to test geographical hypotheses. Not one to miss an opportunity, Mr Crowther took advantage of the weather and gave pupils the chance to visit the spectacular ‘Janet Foss and ‘Gordale Scar’ followed by a two mike trek of the river. The day was such a success that the Geography department plan to take the whole of Year 7 to the beautiful village of Malham next year.
