Consultation on the proposal to add a Special Educational Needs Unit at Cedar Mount Academy

Parents, carers and stakeholders are being invited to take part in a consultation on the proposal to add a Special Educational Needs Unit to Cedar Mount Academy, part of Bright Futures Educational Trust.

Manchester City Council has a statutory duty to provide each child in its area with an appropriate school place. There is an identified need within Manchester for places for children with Special Educational Needs.

The Council is consulting on plans to provide a Special Educational Needs Unit at Cedar Mount Academy, which will meet the needs of up to 40 young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Deadline: All responses must be received by 5pm 18^th April 2026
