All pupils in Years 7-11 take part in a weekly session of “Mount Mastery”. The purpose of this is to consolidate their learning from the previous week. Pupils complete a spellings test, a retrieval quiz, show their appreciation to staff and their peers and then complete a reflection about their own action steps and the CMA values and in Years 10 and 11 pupils explore revision strategies
Pupils have a Mount Mastery book and this details the weekly homework for every subject each term. Knowledge organisers are used to aid retrieval practice, the aim being to interrupt the forgetting. Critical knowledge is covered multiple times to ‘interrupt the forgetting’

Parents and Carers are asked to check daily that pupils have completed this and are asked to support their child by asking about the content and helping by quizzing pupils at home.
