On Tuesday 29th January a film crew from BBC Breakfast interviewed our Mental Health Champions ahead of Children’s Mental Health Week.
Schools within the Trust have been piloting a programme supporting students emotional health & wellbeing whilst offering guidance if and when it is needed. As the pilot enters its second phase, the BBC wanted evidence as to how our students had benefitted and if so what impact it had on their lives. Ashkan opened up about depression and felt he was able to speak up and ask for help, something which may not have happened twelve months ago.
Rachael McKenzie from Youth Sports Trust worked with the ambassadors in team building exercises and offered coping strategies for challenges they face in day to day life.
A big thanks to Rachael and Isabel from Youth Sports Trust for liaising with the BBC and giving us the opportunity to showcase the great work going on at Cedar Mount and our family of schools across the North West.
