Students at Cedar Mount Academy celebrate their hard work and success.

Category: News

At the end of a very challenging two years, students at Cedar Mount Academy are celebrating their GCSE results and planning their next chapter.

These results are an improving picture from 2019 and overall.  A huge amount of the grades awarded were a 6 or above, Cedar Mount is very proud that vast majority of students were entered for the Ebacc suite of qualifications demonstrating the continued academic drive of the school.

We are delighted that we have had great results in the core subjects.

The pandemic has brought many challenges for this cohort during their two years of GCSE studies, students and staff have responded with such grit and determination and our students really deserve this celebration today.

Principal, Kal Hodgson said:

“I cannot praise our students enough. Working through lockdown after lockdown and coping with remote learning when so many did not even have any suitable devices at the start was a huge challenge, and they rose to that challenge. Our students deserve every success, and we are extremely proud to be helping them on the next step of their journey, whether it is employment, higher education or apprenticeship.”

John Stephens, CEO of Bright Futures Educational Trust, added:

“We are absolutely delighted with the wonderful performance of our students across our three secondary schools in our first external examinations since the pandemic began.

“Our Year 11 students have shown the most incredible work ethic and resilience through a really challenging two years with their education hugely disrupted through the worst public health crisis in this country. We could not be any prouder of our students.

“Our students’ achievements clearly reflect the passion and hard work of our teachers and the quality of the leadership in our schools. We are extremely proud of each and every one of our students and would like to congratulate them on all they have achieved. We wish our students the best of luck with their next steps.”
